NAVSIM EQUIPS GREAT LAKES PILOTS WITH NEXT-GEN. SYSTEMS

St. John’s, NL (March 19, 2012) – NavSim Technology Inc., a leading Canadian developer of portable marine eNavigation systems, has signed a contract with the Great Lakes Pilotage Authority (Cornwall, Ontario) to equip its marine pilots with NavSim’s new integrated Portable Piloting Units (PPUs). The 4-year contract also includes a comprehensive service and support package as well as major software upgrades customized to address evolving regional requirements and challenges. Read more.
INDUSTRY VESSELS URGED TO REPORT TSUNAMI MARINE DEBRIS

5 March 2012: Today the World Ocean Council joined other international organizations in encouraging ship operators and owners to co-operate in a vital initiative by the NOAA. Information from vessels enroute between Japan and North America is critical to tracking the debris from the tsunami that devastated Japan on March 11, 2011. Ships are encouraged to submit observations and photos of marine debris--as well as reports of ‘no debris observed’--to: DisasterDebris@noaa.gov . Read more.
