Propel Inc. (formerly the Centre for Marine CNG) is Newfoundland and Labrador’s only applied energy research and development corporation dedicated exclusively to the needs of the oil and gas industry. Its initial focus was on large-scale marine transportation of compressed natural gas for the monetization of stranded natural gas reserves. It has since expanded its focus and service offerings to meet broader needs of the oil and gas industry.

Its primary service offerings are the provision of research and development project management expertise and specialized laboratory facilities and testing services for its members from the oil and gas industry. It also undertakes gas technology analysis, phase-behaviour research and development, gas development consulting and other related commercial / technical consulting assignments.

 

Propel Inc’s facilities include a PVT (pressure, volume, temperature) laboratory outfitted with  modern analytical equipment to support its research into reservoir fluids. Propel’s research capabilities include the treatment and management of produced water, flow assurance, multiphase flow, water separation and advanced well completions in addition to innovations in the field of compressed natural gas.
