Mr. O’Reilly was appointed to the position of Executive Director of OceansAdvance in October, 2005.

Prior to his appointment, Mr. O’Reilly served as Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Fisheries and Marine Institute of Memorial University of Newfoundland since March 1992.

He has extensive experience in various economic development, ocean sector alliances and Boards. Throughout his career he has focused on building collaborative networks and partnerships, provincially, nationally and internationally.

He has been a member of the National Research Council (IRAP) Advisory Board and is past Director of the Newfoundland Ocean Industries Association.
